Frequently Asked Questions
Satvik means "Pure" and Jivan means "Life." Living a Satvik Life is striving for a pure body, mind and soul. This ideal is rooted in Ayurveda, Yoga, and Hindu philosophy.
Our goal is to help make this (a little bit) easier in today's age.

Nope, not in a strict sense. Truly Satvik food would (at least) be home-grown, home-prepared, prepared by someone pure themselves, offered to God first, and much much more.
None of the items would even meet these criteria (...but it's a step in the right direction).
With this caveat, all of these items do qualify as Swaminarayan from the perspective of not including any meat, eggs, onion or garlic.
Some items may also qualify as Jain; however, being considered Jain is more stringent -- including not including any root vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, beats, etc.).
Please check the ingredients before purchasing, in all cases. Even if correct at the time of adding to our site, producers can change their ingredients at any time.
FODMAP is an acronym that stands for Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides, and Polyols
FODMAPs include:
1. Oligosaccharides: Found in wheat, beans, and certain vegetables
2. Disaccharides: Primarily lactose, found in dairy products
3. Monosaccharides: Mainly fructose, found in some fruits and sweeteners
4. Polyols: Sugar alcohols like sorbitol and mannitol, found in some fruits and artificial sweeteners
Many of the products sourced are inadvertently low-FODMAP (e.g., no onion and no garlic).
Definitely consult your doctor for advice based on your personal health context.
